Catholic Health Hosts Stroke Support Group at OLV Senior Neighborhood

To help area stroke patients live their highest quality of life, Catholic Health is hosting a Stroke Support Group meeting on Saturday, September 9 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the OLV Senior Neighborhood Community Room, 55 Melroy Avenue in Lackawanna. In addition to recently diagnosed stroke patients, long term stroke survivors, and caregivers, the general public is invited to attend this month’s meeting, which is entitled Solving the Opioid Crisis: Recognition and Response.

Maureen McCabe, RN, Patient Educator for Catholic Health, will discuss the growing opioid crisis and provide training on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose, including how to administer Narcan. She will also provide information on substance abuse treatment services in Catholic Health.
