Mount St. Mary’s Hospital Got Me Back on My Feet After Knee Replacement

Years of playing football as a halfback for Florida State University did a number on my knees. Nearly 58 years of running my construction business probably didn’t help. Of course, no one wants to hear they need knee replacement surgery, but my experience was so positive, thanks to Dr. Mark Mieth and the staff at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital.

My knee replacement at Mount St. Mary’s was quick, easy and pain free. I joke that I’d do it again and fill in if a friend needed one. Even though they were extremely busy, the nurses and staff always took the time to make sure I was comfortable. In an additional testament to their great work, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York recently named Mount St. Mary’s one of their Blue Distinction Centers® in Knee and Hip Replacement, and Spine Surgery. This means as a nationally designated health care facility, they demonstrate expertise in joint replacement surgery and are committed to delivering high-quality patient safety.

My wife, Adeline, has helped coordinate the Mount St. Mary’s Gala and organized the Play Fore Pink golf tournament for years so we were familiar with the quality of care, but Dr. Mieth and my entire care team exceeded our expectations. Thanks to regular physical therapy, I have had no problems with my new knee. Adeline and I are very active and I am so grateful we are able to continue being on the move.
