At 90 years old, you wouldn’t think one would look forward to physical therapy appointments. But I did.

After some complications from surgery, I ended up in rehab and then received care in my home through Continuing and Home Care Services of Catholic Health. My in-home physical therapist, Sara Luka, DPT, was a lifesaver. She motivated me to do the exercises, which I didn’t look at as hard work, but rather as the way to get better and make a full recovery. She worked with me over a period of six weeks, and I was actually excited each time she would visit. The next appointment couldn’t come fast enough.

I continue to do everything Sara taught me, and I am now able to make it out of the house. I still miss her infectious laugh and continuous encouragement. I can honestly say I would not be where I am today without Sara’s care – she is truly an angel. That is why I want to recognize Sara and her physical therapy work through Home Care.
