Born and raised in Buffalo, Dr. Lawrence began his medical career in Western New York, holding several clinical and administrative positions, including serving as President & Chief Executive Officer of Southern Tier Independent Physicians Association. He earned his Medical Degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine (Medical College Virginia), in Richmond, Virginia, and received his Masters of Business Administration degree from St. Bonaventure University. He is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he also completed his Family Medicine residency.

“Over the past two decades Catholic Health and CMP have partnered together to make healthcare more efficient, affordable and accessible, while leading the region in quality and safety,” said Mark Sullivan, President & CEO of Catholic Health. “I look forward to working with Dr. Lawrence and our physician partners as we continue to transform care throughout Western New York to improve the health of our patients and community.”

Dr. Lawrence will officially assume his role on February 18. “Catholic Medical Partners is an accomplished organization that strives to improve healthcare delivery by focusing on preventative care and refining the patient experience, while supporting physicians with the tools and resources to thrive as independent practitioners,” he said. “I look forward to working with our network of exceptional physicians to positively impact the delivery of high quality healthcare in my hometown.”
