Emergency Department Still Closed at St. Joseph Campus

May 18, 2020Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates, News & PR

The Emergency Department at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus (205 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga) remains closed. We have recently seen a slight uptick in emergent cases present at the facility. After being a community hospital for a number of years, it is second nature for the local community to go to this site when in need of emergent care.

In March, the site was transformed and reopened as a COVID-19 Treatment Facility. Presently, the only care provided at the site is related to those who have tested positive for COVID-19 at another Catholic Health Facility. If they are in need of critical care, the patient is then transferred to the COVID-19 Facility at the St. Joseph Campus.

In Case of Emergency

Emergency services at Sisters Hospital’s Main Campus at 2157 Main Street in Buffalo are not affected by this closure. Individuals with medical emergencies are asked not to go to St. Joseph Campus.

Please call 9-1-1 or go to their nearest open emergency department.
