Kenmore Mercy Hospital was recently honored by the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas as the 2019 Business of the Year during its annual awards dinner on November 7.

The hospital has been a member of the Chamber since 2017 and more recently its Diamond sponsor.

According to Cathy Oddo, Chamber president, “The 2019 Business of the Year Award recognizes a Chamber member business that has demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation and growth, to impact the North Tonawanda and Tonawanda communities.”

Caring for Our Neighbors

Since opening its doors in 1951, Kenmore Mercy Hospital has been an integral part of Kenmore and the Tonawandas, providing high quality and compassionate healthcare to the surrounding community. Kenmore Mercy has continued to serve its neighbors as full-service hospital, adding services and expanding programs to meet the growing needs of area businesses and families.

“Kenmore Mercy is honored to be named the Business of the Year for 2019. We are so proud to support local organizations like the Chamber of the Tonawandas who are working to make our community a great place to live, work and play,” said Walt Ludwig, hospital president.

Kenmore Mercy is not only the closest full-service hospital serving Kenmore and the Tonawandas, it is also one of the best in New York State, with national honors like the Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence and six-years of consecutive “A” ratings from The Leapfrog Group for patient safety.

“On behalf of everyone at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for the 2019 Business of the Year Award. We are very much honored to receive this award and privileged to be the healthcare provider of choice for our neighboring communities,” Ludwig concluded.

The hospital has also partnered with various organizations in the community as sponsors, including the Riviera Theatre, Gateway Harbors, Ken-Ton Chamber of Commerce and the Kenmore Village Improvement Society.
