More than fifty volunteers made up of hospital staff, AllPro parking staff, and nearby block club members recently teamed up for the 10th Annual Mercy Neighborhood Clean Sweep. The volunteer crew worked to beautify the hospital’s surrounding neighborhood in South Buffalo. The event is held annually to recognize National Earth Month and to participate in some “spring cleaning.”

Melissa Welch, business advisor of the hospital’s Finance Department, served as Chair of the 2018 Neighborhood Clean Sweep Committee. She was assisted by committee members and hospital staff members Kathy Gray, Kristin Fisher, Mike Galbraith, Lisa Robert and Barry Skoney. AllPro Parking staff that service the hospital and local BCLA Block Club members Mike and Eileen Shedler also pitched in to help with the event that was held on May 18.

The volunteer crew spent two hours covering a three block radius surrounding the hospital (Lorraine, Belvedere, Choate Avenues, Mercy Street and Abbott Road).
