Joyce Williams is both a board member and a regular donor to Sisters Hospital Foundation. A professional in the healthcare field herself, Joyce finds meaning in both ways of giving to the hospital. She shares why giving her time and talent is the right way to care for her.
What is your relationship with the hospital?
I have been a board member for Sisters Hospital Foundation for four years, but more importantly I have witnessed the incredible care provided by the hospital. First, when my niece was born prematurely and cared for in the Sisters Hospital NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). She is a happy, healthy 10-year-old now. And then, when the hospital took wonderful care of my grandmother when she was ill.
What or who inspired you to make your first gift?
Seeing the work that the Sisters Hospital staff does firsthand was my inspiration. Doctors, nurses and support personnel all work long, hard hours to provide the best care possible for the patients. And they do it with great compassion.
Why do you personally feel it is important to support the Foundation?
As a board member, I know that every gift is truly and graciously appreciated by the Foundation and I understand the continued growth of the hospital depends on that support. I personally believe the staff at Sisters Hospital deserves our support.
What do you hope to achieve with your gift?
Supporting mothers and babies at Sisters Hospital is my priority in giving, but I hope my gift is directed to wherever it is needed most for the care of all patients.
What is your message to others who are considering a gift to the hospital?
I see the impact that donations have on Sisters Hospital and I understand how dedicated the Foundation is to supporting its mission. Believe me, I’m careful in what organizations I donate to. I have full confidence when I give to Sisters Hospital Foundation knowing it’s the right way to care.
