Catholic Health Expanding Hospital Visitation to Pre-Pandemic Hours Starting Monday

Jun 11, 2021Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates, News & PR

All Catholic Health hospitals are returning to pre-pandemic visitation hours starting Monday, June 14, for non-COVID patients. Hospital visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, and Sisters of Charity Hospital Main St. and St. Joseph Campuses.

Safety Procedures Still in Place for Visitors

To help create and support a healing, quiet environment, visitation remains limited to two visitors at a time (per patient). Visitors must be age twelve and older, and those under the age of fourteen must be accompanied by an adult.

Maternity patients are allowed two support persons for the duration of their hospital stay, and in certain outpatient clinic settings, where space permits, patients may be accompanied by a support person for their appointments. One visitor may accompany a patient in the Emergency Department, based on the patient’s condition.

All visitors are required to undergo a health screening, complete an online registration process, and follow all safety guidelines, including wearing a mask at all times and washing or sanitizing their hands before and after each visit. Individuals who report significant COVID-19 exposure or symptoms in the last 10 days, or have a temperature of 100.0° F or higher will not be permitted to visit.

To expedite the registration process, visitors may complete an online form prior to their visit.  A complete list of visitor guidelines and the online visitor form are available at chsbuffalo.org/visitors.

In circumstances deemed medically necessary or in end-of-life cases, family are encouraged to coordinate special visitation in advance through the nursing staff.

Kenmore Mercy Hospital has begun use of a new visitor management system that includes an adhesive photo ID for those visiting the hospital. Individuals should be prepared with their state issued identification when entering the facility.
