Catholic Health’s Way to Wellness: Caring for Your Mind and Body Postpartum is focused on helping new moms cope with the changes to their physical and emotional health after childbirth.

Welcoming a new baby is life changing, and many parents quickly begin to experience the everyday stresses of trying to raise a newborn while establishing a regular routine at home. For some mothers, they also feel the heavy burden of mental health issues that interfere with daily life. Many new mothers struggling with these concerns do so in silence, because they feel ashamed or afraid to ask for help.

To bring awareness to this issue, May is designated Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month. It’s important to bring these topics to light and remind expectant mothers and those struggling with their mental health that there are resources available, and they are not alone.

Join our panel of OB/GYNs, Dr. Lynn-Marie Aronica from Trinity OB/GYN & Midwifery Care and Dr. Latrice Johnson from the Center for Women at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital as they address common postpartum health conditions, detail resources available to treat these concerns, and answer all your questions.

Topics Covered

  • Common postpartum conditions
  • Signs and symptoms of mental health concerns
  • Treatments and resources available
  • Coping with the stress of a newborn
  • Ways to support new parents
