Williamsville Native Returns to WNY to Join Trinity Medical Orthopaedics and Catholic Health

Catholic Health and Trinity Medical Orthopaedics are pleased to welcome Joe Messana, MD, to its physician practice network. A hand and upper extremity specialist, Dr. Messana will see patients at Trinity Medical Orthopaedics’ Williamsville and Hamburg offices and perform surgery at the Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus Orthopaedic Center of Excellence.

As part of Trinity Orthopaedics, Dr. Messana will provide a wide spectrum of surgical and non-surgical care for conditions including dislocations, fractures, hand/upper extremity infections, arthritis, carpal tunnel, and tendonitis. He is also trained to provide pediatric care for hand and upper extremity trauma, congenital hand malformations, peripheral nerve injuries, and upper extremity reconstruction from cerebral palsy.

Meet Joe Messana, MD

Dr. Messana received his undergraduate degree from John Hopkins University and earned his medical degree from Stanford University. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Albany Medical College. A Williamsville native, he is returning to Western New York after completing a Pediatric Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the world-renown Christine M. Kleinert Institute.

“My goal is to provide high quality, personalized care to every patient to help them achieve their treatment goals,” said the Williamsville North graduate. “I work hard to make sure my patients understand their options, be that surgical or conservative, and why we are moving forward with the treatment modalities we have chosen.”
