I Am Living My Life Because of the Villa LIFE Program

In honor of my caregivers, I would like to share my story with you about my life-changing experience at the Villa LIFE program.

I used to stay in bed most of the day. A number of health issues put me in and out of the hospital. As a widow I live alone, and my children began to worry about how much longer I could stay in my house by myself. I resisted any kind of move, so my daughter insisted that we look into the LIFE program. This program has allowed me to stay in my own home while providing services that get me out of the house several days a week. My health has improved thanks to so many caring people looking after all of my needs, from eye and dental care to occupational therapy and nutrition.

Best of all, I am active again. The program provides transportation to and from the Villa LIFE center, located on the Villa Maria College campus, and is close to my home in Buffalo. The center is brand new and beautiful, with an activity room, exercise equipment, cafeteria, and I have made so many friends. I can participate in crafts, entertainment, special outings, spiritual services, discussion groups and games, among other things. I couldn’t ask for better care and I am so grateful, especially to the Continuing and Home Care Foundation that helps to support the center.
