We hope no one ever needs the services of the Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital. But if they do, there’s a team of professionals ready to provide compassionate care, as quickly as possible, in a state-of-the-art environment.

We work in one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Western New York, serving the community 24/7. Thanks to donor support, recent renovations of the department result in a brighter, more welcoming and well-ordered space to care for our patients.

A private triage area, a separate waiting area for results, and two specific rooms for pediatric patients are designed for more focused care and patient comfort during what is most often a trying time. In addition, the department has earned Geriatric Emergency Department accreditation, enhancing services to better meet the specific needs of our elderly patients. This means we provide age-focused, age-friendly care from children to seniors.

At the heart of the Mercy Hospital Emergency Department are dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff – more than 100 all together – delivering care around the clock. We are proud to be part of this collaborative, hands-on provider team with the shared goal of treating emergency patients with more efficiency and less waiting. We are currently raising funds for two CT scanners dedicated to emergency patients which will further decrease wait times and help save more lives. This is why we want to recognize the entire Mercy Hospital Emergency Department.
